#6 Legion Lake

This trail was just a mile down the highway from Badger Hole and turned out to be a great addition to our morning. Pamela said she wouldn't want to hike this one again, but I could easily be convinced to. To be fair, it wasn't an easy stroll. The terrain was fairly rocky, and a couple photos below give you some sense of the incline. I wish we had had our GPS to track our total vertical distance. It definitely took some work to get to the top, but the difficulty of the climb was countered nicely by the short total distance. Once at the top, a small clearing provided a pleasant view, and from there, the trip down was quite quick and simple. For a novice hiker looking for an obtainable challenge or a more experienced hiker in need of a "filler" to compliment more lengthy trails, this would be a fine consideration.

*We did not have Pamela's phone with its GPS capabilities with us today. Our stats, other than total time, are estimates based on information provided in our guide book and at the trailhead.

Total Distance: 1 mile (approx.)
Max. Elevation:  5,400 feet (approx.)
Total Time: 42 minutes
Moving Time: 33 minutes (approx.)
